Story told in Rochester Hills, Michigan
My wife and I had trouble getting pregnant. When we were finally blessed, we were blessed with twins. We quickly settled on the names Max and Maya. However, our joy was short lived as we discovered that there were some health concerns.
While we remained hopeful for a positive outcome, my wife when into labor almost 3 months early. Max was born at 28 weeks old at 2.0 lbs and needed support breathing and had other serious health issues. Maya became our little angel that still watches over us.
We were in the hospital for months and while we grieved for our daughter, we remained strong for Max and we were by his side every possible moment. Over this time, we were so blessed by the love and support of our friends and family and by the care and love from the Beaumont NICU team.
Then after three long months, after watching babies in the NICU that were healthier than Max pass-away, we were finally able to take our baby home.
And walking Max down the hospital halls to our home was the happiest day of my life.
